| Parking information: | There is no dedicated event parking, so you are requested to park your car respectfully and sensibly along Saville Road grid ref ST568754, postcode BS9 1JA, What 3 Words: w3w.co/fear.fool.wins. As there are currently a significant number of caravans and camper vans now occupying the parking spaces on Saville Road you might find it difficult to find a parking space and, if that is the case, then please try alternative parking options on other nearby roads adjacent to the Downs, such as Rockleaze, Downleaze and Circular Road. All the roads crossing the Downs are freely available for kerbside parking. In theory, there are parking restrictions on the Downs which apply Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00 (limit 5 hours), with no overnight parking allowed, so please bear that in mind. Please use Wills Lane to get to registration, which is in the Bar Area at Wills Hall, entrance at https://what3words.com/flap.movie.coins. All under 16s should be accompanied by an adult between parking and registration. If you cycle, then there are bike racks outside the entrance to Wills Hall. If you prefer to use public transport, then the nearest train station is Clifton Down, which is approx. 30 mins walking distance away. There is another nearby station at Sea Mills, but participants are requested not to use that one because it would involve you walking up a massive hill and passing through the competition area en route. There are also several bus routes passing nearby. The closest of which is the U1 (Bristol Unibus) which during University term time runs from the city centre and stops within 200m of registration. Get off on Parrys Lane and walk south-east 50m to the road leading towards the entrance to Wills Hall. | Description: | Part of BOK's Urban Series, held most Wednesday evenings from late April to early July. Short, Medium and Long courses available for adults. Best 6 results on each course score for series prizes, with separate male and female competitions. Juniors (under 16) must only enter the Junior Sprint course; this course is entirely off road or will only involve crossing roads that have traffic management in place that induces low speeds (e.g. 15mph or less) so that Juniors can run unaccompanied. |

| Course description: | Terrain: A mixture of residential roads, paths, the university campus and areas of Sneyd Park. Grassy slopes may be slippery if it has been raining. Road shoes and running shorts are suitable. Map: Long & Medium courses: 1:4,000 scale with 5m contours size A3. Junior Sprint & Short courses: 1:4,000 scale with 5m contours size A4. Map updated in 2025. Waterproof with courses overprinted. Loose control descriptions will also be available. Runners must not enter any of the residential buildings except for marked underpasses. Newcomers are advised to familiarise themselves with uncrossable features and out of bounds symbols (if in doubt ask registration or help marshals). |
