Parking information:We are grateful to have the use of the facilities at the Trinity Academy Bristol (the School). The School is located at Romney Avenue, Lockleaze, Bristol, BS7 9TJ. Because the School will be hosting an all-day concert event, we won’t be able to use the main school car park, so instead we will be parking cars for this event on the school sports courts https://what3words.com/super.bring.hopes , which lie slightly further NE of the main school entrance on Romney Avenue. Once you have parked your car you should then follow the signs to the main school entrance: https://what3words.com/spins.certified.forced and once inside the school you should follow the signs directing you to the room we will be using for download etc. Alternatively, if you have your own dibber, and don’t need to leave anything or drop off your car keys (at your own risk), then please make your way directly to the Start. If you cycle, then there are bike racks adjacent to the main School car park at https://what3words.com/dock.vibrates.frozen If you prefer to use public transport, then the nearest train station is Ashley Down which opened on 28 September 2024 and is approx. 20 mins walking distance away. There are also several bus routes passing nearby. The closest of which is service number 24 which has stops directly outside the School entrance (Haydon Gardens) and travels, inter alia, between Southmead Hospital and Bristol city centre. More information is available at: https://www.firstbus.co.uk/sites/default/files/public/maps/24--A4_timetable_WebSLL.pdf Both the Start and Finish will be within 350m of Trinity Academy, crossing a stretch of road which has a 20mph speed limit (Romney Avenue), using a pedestrian crossing adjacent to the School entrance, and the routes will be taped and signed, as appropriate, in both directions to and from Assembly.
Dog rules:Please keep your dog under control in all areas. Dogs are not allowed in the School. It is likely that dogs will be encountered off the lead on the Estate.

Details

Description:Part of BOK's Local event series, scoring towards Club Senior League and Junior League. The Estate is a mix of open, parkland, steep in places and also some small, wooded areas with some slopes which can be muddy. The main paths are mapped but small and indistinct paths are not. All paths could be muddy/slippery particularly if wet, so O-shoes with good gripping soles or dobbed spikes are recommended and fully body cover is required. The area has lots of new saplings and trees that have been planted recently. It is expected that, subject to the actual conditions on the day, the open parkland should be very fast, but woodland paths are currently extremely muddy and slippery. The white course will include one leg where ’smileys’ will assist novices.
