Fresh from the Junior Inter Regional Championships, which took place at the end of September, this weekend our top junior orienteers will be competing in The Ward Junior Home Internationals.
Our Juniors are well travelled, taking in some beautiful parts of the country and varied terrain in just a few weeks. From the coastline and sand dunes of County Down, Northern Ireland, to the woods and moorland of the Scotish Highlands, they have been presented with plenty of challenges.
To take a look back at what the juniors enjoyed at the JIRCs, hosted by Lagan Valley Orineteers, visit the full report here.
Looking forward to this weekend - on Saturday, the JHI Relay will take place at Loch Vaa organised by Interlopers. The weekend is completed when Badenoch & Strathspey Orienteering Club organise the JHI Individual race at Creag Dhubh. I am sure those of us who visited this area during the 2021 Lochaber Scottish 6-Day will remember it well - unless you chose to delete this from your memory.
A huge thank you to the organising clubs, officials, volunteers and junior squad coaches for all thier fantastic efforts, creating great events which these young people will remember fondly for many years to come. The competition experience and friendships they build on their travels is priceless.
Best wishes to all our Junior squads from across the British Isles, have fun!
