Following the announcement of the Club, Coach and Volunteer Award Winners 2022 we are proud to announce the winners of the 2022 Mapping Awards.
The Mapping Awards recognise orienteers that have produced high quality maps of new areas or significant extensions/major revisions to existing maps. There were three trophies up for grabs including ‘The Bonington Trophy’ – services for mapping, ‘The Chichester Trophy’ – best amateur map, ‘The Silva Trophy’ – best professional mapper, and ‘The Walsh Trophy’ – best urban or sprint map.
The Bonington Trophy: David Olivant (Nottinghamshire Orienteering Club)
The Chichester Trophy: Simon Errington (Hertfordshire Orienteering Club) for the map of Ashridge South and East.
The Silva Trophy: Ben Mitchell (Swansea Bay Orienteering Club) for the map of Singleton Park.
The Walsh Trophy: Simon Errington (Hertfordshire Orienteering Club) for the map of Welwyn Garden City.
We want to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our winners and thank everyone who made a nomination this year.
