Earlier this year, Trimtex launched a competition for UK Orienteering Clubs the opportunity to win customized orienteering kit. We are jointly delighted to announce that the winners of the competition are South Yorkshire Orienteers and Edinburgh University Orienteering Club!
The Great Britain Team’s official kit supplier put out a call to all UK clubs asking them to submit why they thought they should be selected as an orienteering hero of tomorrow. Speaking of the winners, Mikkel Lund of Trimtex said:
"South Yorkshire Orienteers has managed to build up a huge group of young orienteers who attend their weekly training. It is really impressive that of the 130 junior members, 60-70 of them take part in their training every week. A lot of Scandinavians would love to have that many…
Their emphasis is on having fun, making new friends and learning new skills – they have succeeded with this through a successful coaching programme."
"Edinburgh University Orienteering Club have managed to take part in Venla/Jukola with 6 teams this year – we find that incredibly impressive. They are doing a great job in promoting orienteering at the university despite it being difficult in a club where members come and go all the time."
Congratulations to both clubs who have both won a complimentary orienteering kit in their club/team’s unique custom design!
