256 athletes from 27 nations will be competing in World Cup races in C?sis, Latvia this weekend. A Middle Distance, a Relay and a Sprint make up the programme.
The Middle Distance and Relay share the same arena and terrain although the area for the Relay is much larger. It consists of mainly spruce forest with some undergrowth and varying runnability, centred around a ravine with side ravines on the left bank of the River Gauja. In the Middle race the women have 5.2 km with 245 m climb and the men 6.2 km with 275 m climb; in both cases the estimated winning time is 34 minutes.
