World Orienteering Day 2020 - Registration Now Open!

World Orienteering Week starts on Wednesday 13 May 2020.

World Orienteering Day 2020 -  will take place between 13 May and 19 May 2020.

The registration for organising a World Orienteering Day events is now open.

The International Orienteering Federation has confirmed that any activity held can be registered as a World Orienteering Day event.

International Orienteering Federation’s vision is that orienteering is the most attractive adventure-based sport for all ages.

The mission is to promote the global growth of orienteering and develop competitive and recreational orienteering.

World Orienteering Day has been successful from the start and together we can reach the goal of 500,000 participants in 90 countries and territories during 2020. We are all being asked to contribute!  What will you do?

How did Great Britain help support and take part in World Orienteering Day in 2019 last year?

Great Britain's contribution to the International Orienteering Federation's target last year was as follows:

Total number of participants:   UK Actual:  8,267

Total number of events:           UK Actual:     161

Let's join together again in 2020 and provide another week of World Orienteering events within schools, playgrounds, clubs, workplaces, office grounds and community groups.  Let's make this another year to remember and support the International Orienteering Federation in helping them to achieve their 2020 targets. 

Let's see how many events we can put on in Great Britain this year together and how many participants we can encourage to take part and go orienteering.
