"JK 2009 in Northumberland enjoyed fantastic weather and orienteers were in no hurry to disperse after their races. I was then Day Organiser (a volunteer from Newcastle and Tyneside Orienteers.  I didn’t know it at the time but this experience helped when the opportunity to become Professional Officer in the Scottish Orienteering Association came up just over a year later."
