Paul Murgatroyd, Head Coach for Talent, said: "I would firstly like to thank LOC and WCOC for all their assistance in helping to host last weekend's high-quality selection race programme, which was an incredible achievement given the extremely tight timescales we had to work with. We could not have done it without the dedication of a band of volunteers, led superbly by key organisers, Richard Tiley (LOC) and Lynne Thomas (WCOC).

Secondly, given the difficulties that the athletes have had this year, with the loss of nearly the entire season to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was great to see so many excellent performances in tough terrain across the weekend. Several athletes have made themselves unavailable for selection to EJOC this autumn, given the continuing issues around the virus, but the selectors have still managed to assemble a strong team, which contains a number of experienced athletes and those looking to make their international debuts for Great Britain. There is still a good deal of uncertainty surrounding the competition, but we hope that, if it does go ahead, we will be able to compete and see some great performances across the team and we wish them all the best for their preparations over the next six weeks."
