Following a thorough review of all the available information regarding the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC), it has been decided by the Board of Directors that British Orienteering will not be sending a British team to Lithuania in August.
British Orienteering’s top priority is ensuring the health and safety of our members and volunteers. With no further clarity regarding the potential quarantine arrangements, including the safety and welfare of young athletes at the competition, British Orienteering has made the difficult decision not to send a team to Lithuania. This is extremely disappointing to those athletes, parents and the support team involved as well as all at British Orienteering.
We will continue to review the situation regarding international travel for orienteering teams.
