World Class Orienteering – where elite athletes will battle it out to become World Orienteering Champions!
British Orienteering announced (on Tuesday 31 May; here) the athletes selected to represent Great Britain at the 2022 World Orienteering Championships, in Denmark from 26-30 June.
This is the first-ever Sprint-only World Championships, and Individual Sprint, Knock-Out Sprint, and Mixed Sprint Relay are the disciplines being contested.
British Orienteering will field a strong team of four men and four women, all with previous World Championships experience. The named athletes include Alice Leake (placed 4th in Individual Sprint at the 2021 World Championships), Megan Carter-Davies (silver in KO Sprint at World Cup 1 in Sweden), as well as Kris Jones, and Ralph Street (both also previous World Cup sprint medallists).
