Last weekend the Talent North juniors assembled at Great Tower scout camp in the Lakes.
It snowed on Friday evening and blocked the access road so those who arrived on the Saturday had to walk the last kilometre up onto site. The snow meant that the original plan of driving to training in adjacent woods had to be changed, and Saturday was spent training in the Great Tower woodland.
The theme was back to basics, with the emphasis on using your compass and visualising the contour shapes.
Some extra maps & exercises were sorted at short notice, so Sunday we were able to walk to some adjacent woods. Thanks to the drivers & helpers who managed to cope with the conditions, and especially to Jo Matthew for cooking for the group all weekend.
