Team Manager for the Great Britain TrailO team

The TrailO Development Sub-Group would like to seek volunteers for the position of Team Manager for the Great Britain TrailO team. The role of the Team Manager is to direct and support the Great Britain team at either a European or World Trail Orienteering Championship:

• Develop and communicate travel and accommodation options to potential team members.
• Coordinate assistance as required from team members.
• Ensure that selected team members are aware and create IOF identities, and help them comply with the British Orienteering code of conduct and anti-doping protocols as set out in the TrailO Selection Policy
• Maintain discipline and behaviour of the team when they are representing Great Britain in any activity
• Enter the teams as selected by the Selectors into IOF Eventor and manage all entries. Vary entries if necessary at the event, and decide on relay team entries in consultation with Selectors.
• Book event accommodation and meals where this is provided and is required by team members.
• Represent the team at Team Leaders' meetings throughout the event and brief the team on the information from these meetings
• Where British Orienteering has made entry and other collective payments, determine the athletes’ contributions to reimburse British Orienteering appropriately.
• Organise ongoing event reports for British Orienteering social media outputs.
• Provide a formal report on the team and individual competitive performance and on the event to British Orienteering.
• Act with integrity, fairness and transparency at all times.

As much of the role has to be conducted in person at the events, the Team Manager is required to travel with the team to international events. In the past, British Orienteering has provided support in the form of a contribution towards accreditation fees, but the Team Manager will be required to fund their own travel, accommodation and part of their accreditation fees at each event and so you should take this into account when expressing an interest.
