Selections for GBR teams

The selections for the first GBR teams of the 2023 season will be announced on this website at 10am on Sunday 16th April. The athletes announced will be those chosen to represent GBR at the following competitions:

Junior: JWOC, EYOC and JEC

Senior: World Cup 1

 

The focus of the junior competitions has slightly changed for 2023 compared to previous years. They are:

 

JWOC

Purpose: The aim is to select athletes who are performance-based and have demonstrated that they can deliver top 20 results at JWOC, either immediately or in future years.

There are performance targets for the competition.

 

EYOC

Purpose: The aim is to select athletes who have demonstrated strong and consistent levels of performance.

There are no performance targets for the competition; it is primarily about building experience.

 

JEC

Purpose: To select athletes who are performance-based. In order to select the strongest team, priority will be given to those athletes who are on a strong trajectory for international success. The aim is to give these athletes international experience and a development opportunity. Athletes may be selected for both JWOC and JEC.

There are performance targets for the competition.
