During October half term this year, we offered two MapRun courses and made a major attempt at publicising the event beforehand, including multiple Facebook posts across six sites, contacting local schools, and displaying posters locally.
The morning was wet but the afternoon dry. As a result, there were fewer families in the park than is normal for school holidays. All the attendees came because of some sort of advance publicity (see below).
We had nine families (with a total of 23 children) who all said they enjoyed the event.
One parent was a school teacher – and a discussion took place about the DEE Schools League.
One parent was a scout leader – prompting a discussion about how MapRun could help the scout group and how to get a simple map.
