Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport that exercises both your mind and body. The aim is to navigate between checkpoints or controls marked on a special orienteering map. There is no set route so the skill and fun come from trying to find the best way to go!
Tomorrow, the World Orienteering Championships get underway in Edinburgh, and the athletes competing there are aiming to complete the courses set out for them in the quickest time. It's an incredibly exciting opportunity to see them live in action, while learning about the sport yourself via our team of staff out in Edinburgh!
In celebration of WOC 2024, we are putting on a series of FREE activities for the general public to take part in, so that they can learn more about our sport and orienteering in general. There will be an orienteering maze and lots of other activities for you to try out. You can either sign up via the button below, or just turn up on the days listed below.
The courses and activities we have created are easy and most importantly...fun! There is no pressure to complete them in record time, just come and have a go and learn more about what our sport could offer you, your family, or even your school!
We are delighted you want to learn more on how to get involved! We have teamed up with Enrich Education who have produced a promotional resource pack to encourage more physical activity and to promote outdoor learning. You can download the pack below.
