John Woodall (Chairman of British Orienteering from 2000-2003 and David’s deputy said:
“As David's deputy I had many committee meetings in Crewe and due to geographic locations, it was often convenient for David to pick me up on his way from WAOC territory to Crewe. David was a good steady driver, but as two dedicated orienteers we could never agree on the best route from Nottingham to Crewe. David usually chaired the Crewe meetings well and was a good chairman who made life easy for his deputies, he could, however, sometimes get (understandably) exasperated with some members at the meeting - which made it great "fun" for the rest of us.
A good, steady, hardworking, friendly Chairman.”
Our thoughts are with all of David’s family at this difficult time, and you can read the full article from his club, West Anglian Orienteering here.
